“Make it Myself” is the title release from the joyous kids indie band, Ants on a Log’s latest album, advocating for positivity, social justice, and silliness. I collaborated on the music video production with Ants on a Log and performer, a theater artist, teaching artist, author, filmmaker, and choreographer Mélissa Smith.
Starring Mé (and her dog Candy Girl), alongside my children, Benjamin and Elizabeth, “Make it Myself” encourages kids to think about what they can make themselves, rather than buying new. We packed the film with energetic ideas for creating educational and sustainable projects in any household.
To date, the short film has appeared as part of Northwest Film Forum Children’s Film Festival Seattle 2024, Brooklyn Academy of Music BAMkids Film Festival 2024, and Providence Children’s Film Festival 2024.
