Exploring the shape of experience.

Here is my collection of online experiments and digital diversions to investigate the potential of creativity and storytelling in the world around me.

Storytime

2008–2022  |  When my wife, Elisa, and I were dating, one of our favorite ways to spend the afternoon was in the children’s section of a Barnes & Noble or reliving a vintage Sesame Street episode. We are definitely kids at heart, and so it should be no surprise that reading kids books is one of our beloved pastimes. Now as parents, it’s a daily occurrence in our home, but sometimes you just need to read a book out-loud and press record. Here are a few selections we created over the years.

LizzySays

2022 | Kids really do say the quirkiest, wittiest, and weirdest things. So I’ve gathered a collection of original quotes from my kids, Benjamin and Elizabeth, and transformed them into wearable, frameable art.

Booker Birthday Blitz

2020 | Can’t be in person to celebrate family birthdays during the pandemic? No problem! Leave it to my kiddos, Benjamin and Elizabeth, to ham it up for the camera and make things special from a distance: backyard dance parties, elaborate train displays, explosive science experiments, and plenty of tall tales.

Once Upon an Instagram

2017  |  I transformed my personal Instagram into an adventure story, starring my family and friends. So instead of the usual documenting of everyday life, a parallel universe of fantasy, magic, and perhaps a dragon or two started to unfold through a series of posts woven together in anticipation of the birth of my daughter, Elizabeth.

Sugar in my Soul

2012 | My wife Elisa and I made a batch of homemade vanilla extract as a party favor for our wedding guests and it was a hit. The requests came pouring in from friends and family who wanted more of our vanilla. So we prepared small batch organic extract in our Brooklyn kitchen and sold every bottle on Etsy in a matter of months.

Society6 Designs

2011 | I created a series of original designs for a variety of apparel and household goods, including hand-illustrated cityscapes from all across The Big Apple; typographic quotes from pop culture; and the beginnings of an alphabet collection featuring amazing and peculiar creatures.

The Workshop

2010 | I hosted a weekend conference to explore big questions at the intersection of humanitarian causes, ministry opportunities, and artistic pursuits. The participants walked away with a better understanding of how these organizations could better partner together; and with a deeper support to each other's hearts as leaders.

Music Videos

2007–2022  |  I have been a huge fan of the music video storytelling format since the VH-1 Top Twenty Countdown days of my youth. And as a result, I wanted to emulate the look and feel of some of my favorite music videos on my projects. Here are a few highlights that I’ve directed, produced, and starred in over the years.
